Ann Trondson
California King
This piece took place in the backyard of a house in Hancock Park, an affluent suburb of Los Angeles. Two tennis players served balls to each other on the tennis court behind the pool. A swimmer did laps. Two california king snakes wrestled with each other in a cage by the pool. A snake wrangler was standing guard. There was no separation between the viewer and the participants of the performance. The audience could watch from any vantage point during the ten minute long performance. The picture to the left is a still from the piece.
